Building Relationships
Once you have identified who you need to influence to create the change you want to see, you need to understand where they are coming from. Healthy, authentic relationships within your team, in your community and outside your community are key to sustaining the change.
Think about who has a stake in your project. Are they a supporter or a participant? A blocker or a critic? Are they influential, a town-talker in your community? How can they help you?
What are the benefits of your project for them (what will they get out of it)? What are the risks for them in getting involved? What’s your strategy - what do you need to do and say to keep them informed/supportive/out of your way? Do you need to network, lobby or run a targeted campaign?
